I did it again...

Argh, two months! two months of silence!
There's been two LARPs since!
And I haven't written anything!

Not that I don't have anything to say, I have loads!
But I only get motivated to write when I'm at work. And I can't.
When I get home, I'm to tired to write.
Damned...
I'll have to kick myself harder!

Hopefully a post soon.
I'm not forgetting you guys!

3 days...

Three days until the LARP. And still so many things to do.
Why is it that it always seems ok, there is always enough time to wory about it later, always enough time to work on things; but then you open your eyes and realise that you only have 8 hours left and nothing done?
I hate when this happens.

I've actually been doing a lot of things. Just not enough.
I still have some very important things to do and props to buy, but I guess that my ideas will have to wait.

For the moment, I have to make due with what I have and do what is the most urgent.

Tonight I am on my own so no one will disturb me, I WILL finish repairing the chest, I WILL be practicing my songs, I WILL be preparing my stuff.

I hope...

UPDATE!!!!!!:

I did repair the chest! Broke 2 Dremmel blades in the process but heck, it's done!
Preparing the stuff will wait, but I am also practicing my singing. I will have.... probably no new songs by this weekend since we need more group practices...

New Look!

Brand new look for the blog. I guess I felt like something new.

New look and new batch of posts coming soon. I suddently had a burst of inspiration on what to write.

Don't expect anything serious though, I've had so much stress I can't even think straight as of late.

Anyways, let me know what you think about the new look!

Treasure's of the Milandes

Letter to Veroni dated May 18th

"I will be sending to you some money and provisions, we have found a treasure of great importance. We all risked our lives to get it and some of us even died out there, but the result was worth it.
Although I urge you to spend the money or at least exchange it as soon as you can, I believe it might be cursed.
She sent me messengers again, they were in worse shape than before, probably because we were further from the sea. I do not understand why she is punishing me and not them. They should be the ones trying to kill me.
This time, her messengers gave me the ring. It's official now. I don't plan on running away, I accept my fate. I always get out of trouble anyways.
I wonder if it is him. They said he was a shadow demon. It has to be...
I know you will call me crazy. I know this is suicide.
But I cannot go against my curiosity.
I am not a cat.
Take care of the caravan, my next letter will contain the promised money."

Disclaimer

I guess I need to write this, I had people ask me about it.

YES, my character is a whore that flirts and sleeps with anyone that has the money to spend.

NO, I do NOT sleep with other players. I have a boyfriend and I am happy.

I am a very touchy-feely type of person though so I tend to give lots of hugs and sit on laps and squish people's faces in my breasts, but that is ALL.
And when I kiss and fondle Ewen, that,s because I've known her for years and we both like to show off.

So don't ask me if I'm willing to sleep with you, don't ask me if I slept with so and so, don't ask me if I really do the double Rochelloise pinwheel in real life.
The answer is NO.

My character might have a different answer though....

At the "Sea Dog" Inn

Letter to Veroni dated April 20th

"This is the last time I let Moldo talk me into trying out his new aquisition. This in was disgusting. Those damned pirates are horrible people - Except for Paine's crew of course- with absolutely no manners whatsoever. You were right, I shouldn't have gone.
The queen-bitch sent me messengers; I am to be married upon her decree to the person of her choice. A demon. I knew it would be bad new to go near the piers.
I do not wish to be married, but I fear it might be... him.
After so many years, my past is coming back to haunt me. I should have never left the caravan, now I am only to be trouble for everyone...
And with Ludovik's news about Izegaga not feeling so good recently, Ewen is getting even harder to control; she believes that my demise would be the end of the Kumpanya, that I am what holds it together.
I am not a God, far from it...
I beg of you, guide me.
You are like a father to me Veroni, guide my path as you lead the others."

Yes I know, this letter reveals barely anything of what happened. Oh well, you had to be there. I write only what is on the mind of my character when she writes to Veroni. And even though the evening with Mr. De Montalambert was great, Beldandy was to busy thinking of other things.

See you next post.

OMG! I'm still alive!

Hey! Lookithat! a NEW POST!
Yup, again, after countless pokes of 'please, write on your blog' I finally decided to post.
It's not that I don't have anything to write, I have loads! But the problem is that I am afraid of causing meta-gaming if I say too much...

But a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do!

So here comes the recap of the last 2 LARPs!

The Beginning of the Caravan

The legend has been passed down from generation to generation.

Legend has it that the ancestors came from far away, at the other end of the seas. A tribe of sailors would wander the seas, rarely setting foot.
But they grew tired of the sea, they wanted to see different things, experience different horizons. When they found the Milandes continent, they decided to stay on the land.
Having always been travelers, they couldn't just settle down like other humans, they transformed their boats into wagons and bred horses to pull said wagons.
They became a wandering Caravan, travelling from village to village, bringing news, goods and entertainment.

But Myrrhéa, the Goddess of the sea, tends to be extremely jealous. Seeing that the whole tribe had abandonned her, she put a curse on the Caravan. If any of the caravan goes out to sea, they will inevitably die; be it from a storm, an illness, a murder or a Kraken tentacle snatching them from the deck.

For this reason, the people of the Kumpanya tend to stay far away from open sea and any water-based monster; which are seen as messengers to the Goddess.

Gah!!!!

I'm so not good at keeping promises... I can't even update my blog regularly...
Oh well. Season started so now I'll have more people poking me to update more often.

The downside is that a lot of what I'd like to post is about secrets in my character's background. Secrets that I can't post here since other players read my blog.

Oh well.

On to posting!

Silence no more!

Ha, winter, the most horrible of seasons. Why you ask?
Because there are no LARPs!
But as the snow melts, as the dog turds surface, we are faced with a new hope.
Summer is coming soon, and so is LARP season!

As the sun comes back, I will be slowly going out of my ways to find new and interesting stuff for the LARP.
I already started going through my stuff, and I found out that I have way to many costumes that I will never wear... but at least I can help people in need of costumes!

Hurray for summer! I will begin posting again!

LARP Stew Recipe.

Third post of the day, because I need at least one LARP related post.
So here, have a recipe.

For those who LARP with me, this is the stew I always do, so you know what it tastes like.

Ingredients:

Meat (can ba pork, or beef, or venisson; cubed or ground, i guess you could even try fish if you want...)
Cabbage
Turnip
Onion
Potato
Mushrooms
Barley
Broth (I find chicken broth works great with pork and beef broth with beef.)
Herbs (not the smoking ones, the cooking ones, I use thyme and oregano, but it's also good with basil and majoram)
Fenron's secret ingredient (not telling what it is, you have to be a Fenron to know. but rest assured it is nothing gross.)

1- Soak the barley before you start anything, it takes an hour to soak.
2- Chop up the vegetables, I don't give any amounts because it is always purely arbitrary, when people ask me, I answer than I put some, or enough.
3- Put the veggies in a big pot and cover with broth. Bring to a boil.
4- Drain the barley and add it to the boiling vegetables.
5- Let the mix boil for at least 30 minutes, if you are using ground meat, make sure to cook it beforehand, cubes can go raw in the pot.
6- Add herbs and secret ingredient.
7- boil until the vegetables and barley are cooked to your liking. Be sure to keep an eye on the broth level, you might need to add some in the process.

There are two ways of serving it, in a soup fashion, where it is still very liquid, and in a goop fashion, where there is barely any liquid left.
The stew is easily reheated, but tends to be better in a soup fashion when it is. (Just add water and stir before reheating)

And that's it.

Bon Appetit!

R.I.P. to two very important people.

The month of January was very difficult for me and my sweetheart. Two very important people died, and one of them died yesterday.

The first to die was J, my love's grand-father. He was very old, his health had been going downhill for quite some time and caused him to abandon music, his passion, a few weeks before passing away. I'm a bit hazy on the details, but it was pneumonia that got to him in the end if I am not mistaken.
He was my love's best friend.

The other one was John, our cat. Not Legion, our other cat. The one we had before I found Legion. John (not his real name, but the name my ove used fr him on the interwebs) had skin cancer. We had it removed but it didn't heal correctly and he had a pouch of pus and blood that was created under his wound. We had no choice but to get him put down. It was a very sad moment that involved a lot of crying. I guess my love will be crying for most of the weekend. I can't blame him, John has been with him for over 10 years, through good and bad.

R.I.P. both of you, may musician heaven be an endless concert and cat heaven be full of sunbeams and lap.

Forgive my silence.. please.

I spent so long without updating, I nearly forgot about my blog; and when I thought about it, I felt to guilty to write. Vicious circle that ends up with me not updating ever...
So here I am, more than a month since the last post, posting about my lack of posts.
But, there are a few things that make me motivated to write:
1- Winter is full on, the winter LARP is bound to be soon and summer is getting close! Can't wait to LARP!
2- Since I have been trying to convert people to join me, I am constantly talking about LARPing, and I now have bazillions of ideas!
3- I just got a comment from someone in Sweden! I have a reader that I don't know! This is so cool! I have readers that are not family nor people I poked into visiting my blog!!!!

So Sta, whoever you are, thanks for your comment, and I hope you enjoyed reading my blog enough to come back again.

Also, note to all my readers: I like it when you leave comments, LOVE it. And please, leave them on my blog, I know I can reply if you leave them on MSN Messenger or face-to-face, but on my blog, it makes me feel like I'm writing for people other than me!

Ok, narcissistic rant over.

Back to posting normally!!!
