The Beginning of the Caravan

The legend has been passed down from generation to generation.

Legend has it that the ancestors came from far away, at the other end of the seas. A tribe of sailors would wander the seas, rarely setting foot.
But they grew tired of the sea, they wanted to see different things, experience different horizons. When they found the Milandes continent, they decided to stay on the land.
Having always been travelers, they couldn't just settle down like other humans, they transformed their boats into wagons and bred horses to pull said wagons.
They became a wandering Caravan, travelling from village to village, bringing news, goods and entertainment.

But Myrrhéa, the Goddess of the sea, tends to be extremely jealous. Seeing that the whole tribe had abandonned her, she put a curse on the Caravan. If any of the caravan goes out to sea, they will inevitably die; be it from a storm, an illness, a murder or a Kraken tentacle snatching them from the deck.

For this reason, the people of the Kumpanya tend to stay far away from open sea and any water-based monster; which are seen as messengers to the Goddess.
