Three days until the LARP. And still so many things to do.
Why is it that it always seems ok, there is always enough time to wory about it later, always enough time to work on things; but then you open your eyes and realise that you only have 8 hours left and nothing done?
I hate when this happens.
I've actually been doing a lot of things. Just not enough.
I still have some very important things to do and props to buy, but I guess that my ideas will have to wait.
For the moment, I have to make due with what I have and do what is the most urgent.
Tonight I am on my own so no one will disturb me, I WILL finish repairing the chest, I WILL be practicing my songs, I WILL be preparing my stuff.
I hope...
UPDATE!!!!!!:
I did repair the chest! Broke 2 Dremmel blades in the process but heck, it's done!
Preparing the stuff will wait, but I am also practicing my singing. I will have.... probably no new songs by this weekend since we need more group practices...
A mish-mash of backstory, ideas, brainstorming and shameless plugs. All this to add to the greatness of LARPing!

Treasure's of the Milandes
Letter to Veroni dated May 18th
"I will be sending to you some money and provisions, we have found a treasure of great importance. We all risked our lives to get it and some of us even died out there, but the result was worth it.
Although I urge you to spend the money or at least exchange it as soon as you can, I believe it might be cursed.
She sent me messengers again, they were in worse shape than before, probably because we were further from the sea. I do not understand why she is punishing me and not them. They should be the ones trying to kill me.
This time, her messengers gave me the ring. It's official now. I don't plan on running away, I accept my fate. I always get out of trouble anyways.
I wonder if it is him. They said he was a shadow demon. It has to be...
I know you will call me crazy. I know this is suicide.
But I cannot go against my curiosity.
I am not a cat.
Take care of the caravan, my next letter will contain the promised money."

At the "Sea Dog" Inn
Letter to Veroni dated April 20th
"This is the last time I let Moldo talk me into trying out his new aquisition. This in was disgusting. Those damned pirates are horrible people - Except for Paine's crew of course- with absolutely no manners whatsoever. You were right, I shouldn't have gone.
The queen-bitch sent me messengers; I am to be married upon her decree to the person of her choice. A demon. I knew it would be bad new to go near the piers.
I do not wish to be married, but I fear it might be... him.
After so many years, my past is coming back to haunt me. I should have never left the caravan, now I am only to be trouble for everyone...
And with Ludovik's news about Izegaga not feeling so good recently, Ewen is getting even harder to control; she believes that my demise would be the end of the Kumpanya, that I am what holds it together.
I am not a God, far from it...
I beg of you, guide me.
You are like a father to me Veroni, guide my path as you lead the others."
Yes I know, this letter reveals barely anything of what happened. Oh well, you had to be there. I write only what is on the mind of my character when she writes to Veroni. And even though the evening with Mr. De Montalambert was great, Beldandy was to busy thinking of other things.
See you next post.

LARP Stew Recipe.
Third post of the day, because I need at least one LARP related post.
So here, have a recipe.
For those who LARP with me, this is the stew I always do, so you know what it tastes like.
Ingredients:
Meat (can ba pork, or beef, or venisson; cubed or ground, i guess you could even try fish if you want...)
Cabbage
Turnip
Onion
Potato
Mushrooms
Barley
Broth (I find chicken broth works great with pork and beef broth with beef.)
Herbs (not the smoking ones, the cooking ones, I use thyme and oregano, but it's also good with basil and majoram)
Fenron's secret ingredient (not telling what it is, you have to be a Fenron to know. but rest assured it is nothing gross.)
1- Soak the barley before you start anything, it takes an hour to soak.
2- Chop up the vegetables, I don't give any amounts because it is always purely arbitrary, when people ask me, I answer than I put some, or enough.
3- Put the veggies in a big pot and cover with broth. Bring to a boil.
4- Drain the barley and add it to the boiling vegetables.
5- Let the mix boil for at least 30 minutes, if you are using ground meat, make sure to cook it beforehand, cubes can go raw in the pot.
6- Add herbs and secret ingredient.
7- boil until the vegetables and barley are cooked to your liking. Be sure to keep an eye on the broth level, you might need to add some in the process.
There are two ways of serving it, in a soup fashion, where it is still very liquid, and in a goop fashion, where there is barely any liquid left.
The stew is easily reheated, but tends to be better in a soup fashion when it is. (Just add water and stir before reheating)
And that's it.
Bon Appetit!

Things I don't understand.
Ok, I play a Bard. That is an innkeeper. That is a whore.
But I play a bard. why? because I love to sing.
I play an innkeeper. why? because I love to take care of people and make evil and cunning plans to have even more money without needing to fight.
I play a whore. why? because I have no shame whatsoever.
The thing is, contrary to what it seems like, I have no confidence in my skills.
I think that my voice is horrible.
I don't really like my own cooking and invent recipes on the fly.
I am the shyest person ever, I don't care about making a fool of myself, as long as no one else is involved. I don't want people to be fools. That and I don't trust people to believing the "it's only a game" part.
Oh and like any person, I don't think that I am attractive.
Ok, useless ranting but I have horrible hair that cannot be tamed, only detained in a tight braid; I have a horrible acne problem that makes me look like I'm 12 and I have an anoying personality!
I know that I have an annoying personality! I've always had it. And then people tell me I'm annoying!
I KNOW!
So yeah, back to the main subject.
I play a jaded bard whore... yet I must resist telling people to shut up when they compliment my voice or my looks because I disagree.
What is pretty in a badly proportionned zit-faced freak like me? What is melodic in a broken squealy voice like mine? What is good in the randomly tossed together produce that ends up looking like a brown goop (It often looks like I'm a bone-gnawer who used the gift "cooking")?
I just don't understand....

Out of Character presentation!
Ok! So real life events now, not just character backstory...
I'm curently playing Beldandy at a LARP called Milandes in the province of Quebec.
I play an innkeeper. Why? because I like it.
Actually, the idea first came after playing for a few years in other LARPs and talking to people who went to different LARPs and to people who had their own LARP.
The main reccuring characteristic was that innkeepers were always the most annoying NPC to play because the actors prefer to be monsters and such, and if they are portrayed by players, they are never at the Inn since players prefer to fight said monsters.
Personnaly, I love LARPing, but I hate fighting.
I know, some of you are wondering why the f*** do I LARP if I don't like fighting.
The reason: because I love role-playing.
An other recurring theme I saw in LARPs is that people tend to forget they need to eat. They are so busy trying to beat monsters of finding more treasures that they forget to eat. The usual LARP meal is beer, gummies and car temperature chunky soup cans.
So I decided that the greatest way to continue playing while not fighting was to become an innkeeper.
I talked about my project for years to everyone around me since I knew I wouldn't be able to take care of everything myself.
Most of my LARPing friends were not interested. "Where's the fun if you don't get to explode monsters' faces?" But eventually I found a friend who was not interested at all in fighting, just like me, and who thought that the idea of being an innkeeper was pretty cool.
Then followed a long time of looking for a LARP who would accept innkeepers and endless Value Village and flea market stalking in order to find pots and pans and bowls and spoons and all that medieval looking sh*t we would need.
Eventually, we found one, not Milandes, but after playing there for a season, we realised we didn't like the place.
Then we found Milandes.
Seriously, the place is awesome. The people are awesome. The story is awesome.
I just love it all.
Except the bugs.
But hey...
Anyways, now we are happily playing innkeepers in this great LARP, where we entertain people, constantly explode with lewd comments and just love the people.
Eye-candy for everyone!

Character presentation FTW!
So I guess I could start by presenting the people who will write and star in this blog.
ME!
I'm not going to describe myself much, the point here is to talk about my character and my ideas.
What's important:
I'm a girl, I play D&D and I've been LARPing for years. I love LARPs and Role-playing in general. I also love comic books and video games. And yes, I am a girl!
My character is a gypsy called Beldandy. For some reason (involving zombies, werewolves and a shadow demon...), she left the caravan she had always been travelling with and decided to hang low and settle down a bit.
Not being one to stay in one place though (She still IS a gypsy) and being unable to stay alone for long periods of time, she decided to open here own little travelling inn.
So now she has her own little inn, helped by her faithfull friend Ewen, and she entertains and feeds travellers.
Ewen is awesome, she helps a lot around the inn and keeps my brain in my skull.
She used to be with the caravan to, but decided to follow Beldandy around since they had always been very good friends.
Together, they are the greatest ladies ever. They can entertain with their voices, their bodies and their spirits (both wits and alcohol meanings of spirits are applicable here). They can cook delicious meals for travellers. (And they offer coffee for the ones who prefer to wake up before starting to fight.) And they have great magic powers that can keep everyone alive! (if you forget the part where that make them the number one target for enemies...)
Seriously, both Ewen and Beldandy are not afraid to use their bodies to ther advantage, sometimes, screams coming from the woods are not the outcome of a zombie raid.....
ok... I guess this is getting very long for a post.
So more out of game backstory next time!

Welcome to hell...
There are a few types of blogs, help blogs, random blogs, abandonned blogs, witty blogs...
This here is mostly for my fun.
In here will be reality and fiction... the kind of fiction that really happens.
Let me explain: I play in live action Dungeon and Dragons games. I'm an innkeeper. This job is awesome AND hellish at the same time.
This here is just to vent off and brag.
I guess that's what I like about the internet, who care what I write, right?
